The FACUG is delighted to note a very special and unique event - a four-day/three-night Technology Conference Bahamas cruise, on the Norwegian Sky sailing from Miami on Friday, February 26, 2010, calling on Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas, returning to Miami on Monday, March 1, 2010.

We are about to embark upon an exciting new adventure. We will be creating an opportunity for many who have never before attended a computer and technology conference to share in the fun and enjoyment surrounding such an event. We are seeking to provide novel and interesting presentations for both the computer novice as well as those who may be more knowledgeable. There will be time to spend at workshops and also time to enjoy all that the ship has to offer.

How to book your Cruise

The early bird cruise rates have expired and rates are now free to fluctuate.
The cost of an interior cabin for 4 days/3 nights on the Norwegian Sky as of November 1, 2009 is $258.37/person and subject to change. This price includes all taxes, fees, port charges, trip insurance, gratuities and $25 ship board credit. All outside cabins have been SOLD OUT and there are a few balcony cabins left.
After registering for the conference, we suggest you should call the eCRUISES.com reservations center at 800-223-6868 extension 103 and identify yourself as a FACUG – Norwegian Sky – 2/26/10 member. You will be required to provide your personal information including first and last name, date of birth, address, telephone number and email address.

Payment by Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, check or money order payable to eCRUISES.com, will also be required at the time of booking as follows:

Final payment must be made by November 26, 2009. Bookings will be accepted (interior, ocean-view or balcony) in price ascending order based on availability. All bookings will be made on a guarantee basis, subject to upgrade, with cabin assignments to be confirmed, as available, prior to boarding.

Passenger requests for cancellation are to be made in writing using an “Authorization to Cancel” form available through eCRUISES.com upon request.

Cancellation penalties from the cruise line will apply as follows:

  • Cancellation 76 or more days prior to sailing…Full Cruise Fare Refund
  • Cancellation 76 to 30 days prior to sailing…$100 Deposit per person
  • Cancellation 29 to 8 days prior to sailing…50% of Cruise Fare per person
  • Cancellation 7 or less days prior to sailing…100% of Cruise Fare per person

 

In addition, eCruises.com will charge a $50/person administrative fee in the event of a cancellation. This fee is refundable from the insurance provider in the event of cancellation for a covered reason, or if not covered, as a $50 credit that can be used on a future booking of equal or higher value with eCruises.

To Qualify for the discounted cabin rates

At least one occupant of each cabin must first register for the conference online. If there is no conference attendee in your cabin, you certainly would not want to risk having your cruise booking declared invalid and lose part of the deposit.

The early bird rate for the conference is $50 for members of FACUG or APCUG User Groups and $75 for non-members. Cruise bookings will be accepted (interior, ocean-view or balcony) in price ascending order based on availability.

Immigration

U.S. citizens on this cruise will be able to enter or depart the country with either a passport OR a government-issued birth certificate with a raised seal and government-issued photo ID like a driver’s license.

Bus Transportation

Buses from Palm Beach County to the pier will be $10 - $15/person each way.
Turnpike, I-4 and I-75 buses will be $40 - $50/person each way.
If there is significant demand, we will try to reserve buses from other points around Florida to the pier and back at the best prices we can find.

The early bird rate for the conference is $50 for members of FACUG or APCUG User Groups and $75 for non-members.

Travel insurance

Travel insurance is with I Travel Insured and the scope of coverage can be found on the eCRUISES.com website.

Non-member group attendees

  • $75 per person if postmarked or online by December 1st, 2009.
  • $95 per person after that date.

Discount Rules:

*Note: The advance payment and member discounts only apply for those registrants whose user groups are in good standing

AS OF FEBRUARY 1st 2010. Registrants who are members of user groups not in good standing will be asked to pay an amount, equal to the non-member registration fee, less any advance payment.
Please contact your organization's treasurer to make sure their membership status is up to date to avoid confusion at the door.

Registration entitles you to your FACUG badge, access to FACUG Events, registration materials, and promotional items.
